Mo Yu put on his sunglasses and admired his new look from side to side, feeling quite satisfied. The maid stood by, deep in thought. Suddenly, she reached out and tugged at Mo Yu’s pants. He reacted swiftly, grabbing her wrist to stop her.

“What are you doing?!” he asked.

“Nothing,” she replied calmly, releasing her hand as if nothing had happened. She then ushered Mo Yu out of the room and began changing her outfit. When she reappeared, the maid had undergone a complete transformation.

Golden wavy hair, a beige trench coat layered over a light knit sweater and a long skirt—she looked mature and elegant, like a completely different person from before.

The two headed to an underground parking garage filled with all sorts of cars. At the maid’s request, Mo Yu drove out a sleek black sports car. She sat in the passenger seat and used the car’s display screen to set a destination:

Decardi Theme Park.

Distance: 21 kilometers.

The car started and exited the underground garage. During the drive, the maid pulled out a photo and handed it to Mo Yu. The picture showed a young girl—blond hair, fair skin, youthful, exuding a gentle and intellectual aura. She wore the same school uniform as Iris.

“This is your target.”

“I need a sniper rifle,” Mo Yu replied.

“Your mission is to seduce her, not kill her!”

“Huh?”

Just as Mo Yu suspected, Iris was truly testing him as a suitor, assigning him a task to woo someone.

“Can I switch targets?”

“What do you think?”

“What if I fail?”

“Aren’t you from the future? Then you should know that the young lady doesn’t accept losers. Work hard, pet.”

The car left the underground garage and faced a road leading toward the outskirts of the city.

“Follow the GPS exactly, don’t deviate. We’ve tampered with all the surveillance along the way—no traces will be left. Hurry, time is limited…”

Before the maid finished, Mo Yu slammed the accelerator to the floor.

“Hold on tight!”

Seven minutes later.

Decardi Theme Park parking lot.

The sports car slid gracefully around a corner, spun 180 degrees, and parked precisely in a space. Mo Yu shut off the engine, pulled the handbrake, and praised, “Nice car.”

The maid gripped her seatbelt tightly, her hair disheveled and her expression terrified. Seven minutes, 21 kilometers, cutting through most of the city—she had seen flashing lights and repeated them multiple times.

For the sake of vampire dignity, she endured without letting out a sharp scream.

She looked at Mo Yu, who was completely relaxed, as if weaving through traffic was just a leisurely stroll in the backyard.

This guy was insane! Utterly and completely mad! The maid was certain.

Her impression of Mo Yu shifted once again.

Mo Yu tried to get out of the car, but the maid caught hold of his coat.

“Your mission’s not finished. The target is the young lady’s classmate. They came together today. When she’s alone, you can try to win her favor. If you gain her trust, bring her to the work area beneath the Volcano Castle and find the wall marked with an X before sunset.”

“Before sunset… will something happen after sunset?” Mo Yu asked.

The maid’s voice turned cold. “Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t.”

Mo Yu nodded.

After all, sunset was the vampire’s hour.

Iris was scheming something, but he was excluded.

Stepping out of the car, Mo Yu stretched his body. The maid leaned against the door, her legs weak.

Mo Yu teased, “With your strength, you wouldn’t die even crashing at 300 km/h. What’s there to be afraid of?”

The maid shot him a murderous glare. “It’s daytime now.”

In sunlight, a vampire’s power was severely weakened. She wasn’t afraid of the sun but that didn’t mean she didn’t lose strength.

Mo Yu gazed into the distance.

Blood-red letters appeared in his sight, lifting his spirits.

Those staff members dressed as mascots were hiding a lot of dirty secrets.

[This is a concept-contaminated entity (Kachi Mouse), very dangerous, recommended to flee.]

[This is a concept-contaminated entity (Black Carbon Princess), very dangerous, recommended to flee.]

[This is a concept-contaminated entity (Ageless Duck), very dangerous, recommended to flee.]...

Some were cartoon characters, some cosplayers. A new type of monster.

Alpha wasn’t around; he’d ask later.

This branched timeline was truly perilous.

After the maid bought two tickets online, the two queued to enter the amusement park.

Their striking combination of handsome man and beautiful woman drew many gazes, standing out in the crowd with numerous prying looks.

“Bad call. Having a handsome pet is troublesome too...” the maid muttered.

Mo Yu strolled ahead carelessly, silently counting the number of contaminated entities. There were quite a few, all disguised as cartoon characters mingling with the visitors.

He secretly observed the maid.

She seemed unaware of the contaminated entities.

Following the GPS, they soon found Iris, who stood on high ground looking down.

With sharp eyesight, Mo Yu immediately spotted her.

A group of seven.

Four girls, three boys.

Clearly high school students out for a weekend outing. Their relationships were easy to read.

Iris and Alice held hands at the back; two boys circled the target girl, seemingly arguing; the remaining boy and girl clustered sweetly together.

Yuri, couples, and a love triangle.

“Huh?”

Mo Yu sensed something unusual.

Iris’s classmates all seemed a bit off.

He couldn’t pinpoint what exactly, but amidst the crowd, they appeared unusually conspicuous, as if everyone else was covered in a layer of gray while only they retained normal colors—easy to distinguish at a glance.

“Do you feel it?” the maid suddenly asked.

Mo Yu turned around, puzzled.

She explained, “They’re all demon hunters. Your senses are sharper than ordinary people.”

Mo Yu made a throat-slitting gesture.

The maid snorted, “If you’re so capable, why don’t you go?”

“Tell me about demon hunters. Are they strong?” Mo Yu seized the opportunity.

He’d been wondering how to approach demon hunters—here was his chance.

The maid gave him a detailed explanation, through which Mo Yu truly grasped a glimpse of this era.

The supernaturals were powerful, dominating society’s operations.

At least in Central Continent, each region’s backstage was ruled by strong families who controlled both ordinary people and monsters through sheer might.

“That doesn’t sound right. Isn’t it said that monsters control the human elite?”

“Who told you that?”

“Historical records.”

“What kind of unofficial history are you reading? Some monsters do operate among humans’ upper echelons, but those monsters are raised by demon hunter families.”

“Shouldn’t humans unite to stop the monster invasion?”

“Pfft…”

The maid burst out laughing—a rare occurrence for her, only when she couldn’t hold back.

“If humans were united, monsters would have been wiped out long ago.”

“Infighting?”

Mo Yu decided to confront Alpha when he returned.

The intel was all wrong.

Weren’t they supposed to have paid a heavy price fighting monsters?

He needed to check the space station’s historical records carefully. If some great hero from a certain era had actually risen by selling smut novels, then that would be truly absurd.
