Chapter Thirty-Five: Buy Me One Just Like It
In the early morning, the radiant sunlight gently caressed the land of Huaxia as Qin Mengxue drove her unassuming yet regal black Volkswagen Phaeton along the wide avenue leading to the Menghua Group. Despite the brilliant sunshine and the promise of spring in the air, there wasn’t a trace of happiness on Qin Mengxue’s face—all because Xue Tian’ai was hiding in the passenger seat.
That morning, as agreed, Qin Mengxue went to wake him, only to find Xue Tian’ai shamelessly refusing to get out of bed. No matter how she called, he wouldn’t budge. In the end, Qin Mengxue had no choice but to resort to a woman’s secret weapon—she pinched the flesh at his waist hard enough to finally rouse him.
Unexpectedly, Xue Tian’ai was a staunch supporter of sleeping in the buff, clad in nothing but a pair of oversized shorts. So, when he sprang up in pain, Qin Mengxue was greeted by the sight of his bare body once more. Worse still, thanks to the normal reactions of a man in the morning, he was pitching a tent more impressive than yesterday.
For the first time in her life, Qin Mengxue witnessed the marvel of the male anatomy—his very own pyramid.
Now, Xue Tian’ai, sitting in the passenger seat, paid no mind to the awkwardness of the morning. Instead, he chattered away with excitement. “Honey, you can’t blame me for that. It’s just a natural male response in the morning…”
“Enough. I don’t want to hear another explanation! Set your own alarm from now on—I’m not waking you again.”
“But honey, honestly, I feel so lucky. After all, seeing my beautiful wife first thing in the morning guarantees I’ll be in a good mood all day.”
“In your dreams!” Qin Mengxue snorted and turned the wheel sharply.
“Hey, look at that—you’re wearing the ring I bought you. Are you sure you’re not just playing hard to get…” Xue Tian’ai, ever observant, had noticed since getting in the car that the Tear of the Azure Sea ring was now on her little finger.
Qin Mengxue flushed at being called out. “This is part of my dowry, why shouldn’t I wear it? Besides, wearing it on my pinky means I’m not interested in dating right now. Don’t get any ideas.”
“There are so many rules for wearing a ring? If I’d known, I would have bought you a necklace instead.”
She merely snorted and turned her attention to driving.
“Honey, I’ve always wondered… With all your money, why drive a black Volkswagen Phaeton? It’s so ugly.”
Hearing her favorite car insulted, Qin Mengxue’s eyelid twitched, but she forced herself to reply patiently, “Xue Tian’ai, say that again!”
“It just doesn’t suit your style!” he insisted honestly. In his mind, the classic Phaeton didn’t match her beauty at all.
“Then what car do you think would suit me?”
“Well, a Porsche 918, maybe a Ferrari Roma, or a Lamborghini Gallardo. All of those would be perfect for you!” Xue Tian’ai answered earnestly, thinking fondly of his European butterfly base, home to a collection of sports cars.
“Alright, then buy me one of each,” Qin Mengxue replied with a sly smile, shooting him a sidelong glance.
Xue Tian’ai stared at her in shock. “Honey, what did you just say?”
“Buy me one of each. Didn’t you say they suit my style? Then buy them all for me.”
“But I don’t have any money…” Xue Tian’ai winced at the thought—his wallet couldn’t cover even a single tire, let alone a whole car. He’d have to contact Owl to help him unlock funds in Huaxia.
“Aren’t you my husband? You spent ten billion dollars on a ring, how could you not have money?” Qin Mengxue focused on the road, not even looking his way.
“Well, can I sell the ring to buy the cars…”
“Don’t even think about it!”
“Fine! Once the weekend comes, I’ll get back to my old profession and shoot some films to buy you those cars!” Xue Tian’ai said, gritting his teeth as if making a solemn vow.
“Were you really…” Qin Mengxue was truly curious about what Xue Tian’ai used to do. She didn’t believe the Xue family would let him film those kinds of movies in Japan.
Yet before she could finish her question, Xue Tian’ai suddenly shouted, “Quick, honey, look—a Huluwa!”
Startled, Qin Mengxue followed his gaze and indeed saw a little golden Huluwa, apparently a combined form. But her expression immediately darkened.
Because the Huluwa was on a pair of panties—a girl’s panties. A sudden gust had lifted the girl’s skirt, revealing underwear printed with the Huluwa. Not only did Xue Tian’ai ogle shamelessly, but he also told Qin Mengxue to look!
“Honey, why do so many girls wear miniskirts? They’re so easy to be exposed in—are they doing it on purpose, to tempt men into indecency? If you ask me, when men commit those kinds of crimes, only one percent of the blame lies with men. Ninety-nine percent is women’s fault! If women didn’t entice men, how could men commit crimes?”
Xue Tian’ai was oblivious to the storm brewing on Qin Mengxue’s face, pontificating self-righteously.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk. Still, I have to say, after all these years away, Huaxia’s women have grown so stylish and sexy! Look at that girl—her bottom is perfectly round, though her face is lacking.”
“Hey, now that girl has a pretty face, but such a pity—her figure is all wrong.”
“Whoa, that beauty doesn’t seem to be wearing panties at all! I thought only Japanese women did that!”
And so it went—Xue Tian’ai commented on every remotely attractive woman he saw, even asking Qin Mengxue to guess their measurements, completely oblivious to her increasingly stormy expression.
“But you know, honey, after all this driving, I still haven’t seen anyone with a bigger chest than yours, or a rounder bottom, or a prettier face!”
“Will you shut up!” Qin Mengxue finally exploded, unable to bear it any longer. She snarled coldly like a furious kitten, though deep inside, she felt a twinge of shyness at his praise.
Seeing the way her pretty face flushed with anger, Xue Tian’ai chuckled and wisely held his tongue, turning to gaze out the window.
“Don’t look outside!” Qin Mengxue snapped. She didn’t want to hear any more of his commentary, nor did she want him admiring other women.
Xue Tian’ai had no choice but to sit obediently in silence, but his eyes were far from honest. If he couldn’t look outside, then he’d look at her!
His roving gaze swept over Qin Mengxue’s perfectly proportioned figure. Today, as always, she wore a professional outfit—a fitted white blouse whose neckline revealed just a hint of her fair neck, with her womanly curves stretching the fabric to its limits, making her all the more alluring.
Her lower half was clad in a black pencil skirt that, though not short, accentuated the contours of her thighs. Paired with black stockings and her natural air of a frosty CEO, she radiated a unique, provocative charm.
Naturally, Qin Mengxue felt the heat of Xue Tian’ai’s gaze—making her uncomfortable, yet also a little proud. Caught between embarrassment and annoyance, she finally had to remind him aloud.
But Xue Tian’ai ignored her, replying, “If I can’t look at my wife, who can I look at?” and carried on admiring her as before.
Though humiliated and exasperated, there was nothing Qin Mengxue could do but step on the gas and speed toward Menghua Group.
After another ten minutes, the tower of Menghua Group finally came into view.
“Honey, let me out here,” Xue Tian’ai said abruptly, spotting the Menghua Group’s name on the building ahead.
“Why?” Qin Mengxue asked in confusion. The tower was right ahead—why get out now?
“I’ll walk from here,” he replied. “Once we’re at the company, it won’t look good if people see me getting out of your car.”
“Oh,” Qin Mengxue murmured, recalling his desire to keep their relationship secret from the company staff.
“By the way, honey, I’m hungry… Could we have breakfast first? Aren’t you hungry? Skipping breakfast…”
“You can eat in the company cafeteria—they have plenty of options. I don’t eat breakfast; my secretary will make me coffee.”
“Alright, I’ll get out here.” With that, Xue Tian’ai opened the door and hopped out.
He shut the door, and after a honk from Qin Mengxue, she sped away toward the Menghua Group.
No sooner had he set foot on the street than Xue Tian’ai began to survey his surroundings. It had been hard to see from the car, but now, out in the open, he could feast his eyes to his heart’s content.
All around him were graceful curves and long, fair legs—a veritable parade of beauty. Xue Tian’ai couldn’t help but smile—this was a truly breathtaking scene!
After his fill, he looked up at the tall building ahead—the Menghua Group’s very own headquarters.
As one of Beiyang City’s flagship enterprises, Menghua Group’s headquarters exuded prestige. Waves of white-collar workers came and went, and a stream of high-end cars signaled for the underground parking lot, completing a scene of bustling prosperity.
Without wasting another moment, Xue Tian’ai strode straight through the front doors.
The lobby was spacious and grand, its gleaming marble floors reflecting the light of the crystal chandeliers overhead. Even in daylight, the chandeliers blazed like cascading mercury, lending the hall an air of opulence and expanse that put visitors at ease.
There was a designated office area for some employees on the first floor, but judging by their attire and demeanor, they were certainly not core staff. Even a wealthy conglomerate like Menghua Group maintained a strict hierarchy.
With a sigh, Xue Tian’ai made for the elevators—when a sweet voice called out from behind him.
“Hello, sir, and welcome to Menghua Group. May I ask who you are here to see?”
