Xue Tianai’s eyes widened in astonishment as she watched Gan Bingning’s actions. Bold—far too bold. This Gan Bingning was nothing like the person she appeared to be at the company. Although she’d only worked there a day, Gan Bingning had left an impression on Xue Tianai: beautiful, poised, with a trace of coolness—a coldness reminiscent of Qin Mengxue’s formidable CEO aura.

Yet, here in the bar, Gan Bingning seemed to shed her entire facade, her former demeanor replaced by a seductive allure. Any man witnessing an attractive woman bite her lip and speak in such a provocative tone would see his eyes blaze with desire and feel temptation rise within.

Xue Tianai was, after all, a normal man—he was no exception.

“Bingning, you know, all men are vulnerable to temptation,” Xue Tianai turned his head and took a light sip of the Long Island iced tea Gan Bingning had just ordered.

“But I see more than just desire in your eyes. There’s confusion—why?” Gan Bingning gazed seriously at Xue Tianai.

“Are you wondering why I’m so different from my image at the company? Or are you puzzled that, after you took my first time, I didn’t get angry and instead invited you for drinks?”

Xue Tianai was a little surprised by her words. He had to admit, Gan Bingning’s insight into people was truly sharp—no wonder Qin Mengxue had personally promoted her to manager of the diplomatic department. Her judgment was, indeed, incisive.

“No, no, Bingning, you’re overthinking it. Right now, my eyes only hold desire for you. If we were in a hotel, who knows—I might have already pushed you down,” Xue Tianai grinned at Gan Bingning, his expression lewd.

“Oh?” Gan Bingning swirled her glass and smiled charmingly. “Then why don’t we get a room after we’re done here?”

Xue Tianai almost fell off his stool when he heard that! This beauty was as fierce as a tiger! Once again, he witnessed Gan Bingning’s boldness and strength.

“Bingning, you can’t possibly mean that,” Xue Tianai looked at her in disbelief. What kind of woman was she?

“What do you think?” Gan Bingning smiled gently, neither confirming nor denying.

Xue Tianai was about to say something when a strangely dressed thug with pink-dyed hair shoved through the crowd, heading straight for them.

Moments later, the pink-haired thug stood before Xue Tianai and Gan Bingning, patting Xue Tianai’s shoulder. “Hey, is this your woman?”

Xue Tianai frowned slightly and turned to see an arrogant punk, piercings in his ears, clad in flashy clothes, staring at him contemptuously.

Though Xue Tianai didn’t know the pink-haired thug, he was irritated—just as he was about to probe further with Gan Bingning, he was interrupted by this kind of person.

Ignoring the punk, Xue Tianai turned to Gan Bingning and asked, “Bingning, what do you say, are you my woman?”

Though Gan Bingning had just acted boldly, the sight of the pink-haired thug made her a bit anxious. Yet, seeing Xue Tianai’s calm demeanor and recalling his impressive skills, her worries seemed to melt away.

She smiled, a blush blooming on her cheeks like peach blossoms in spring.

“Whatever you say~” Gan Bingning replied simply.

“See? What should I say?” Xue Tianai looked at the pink-haired punk and shrugged.

From the energy the punk had projected when he slapped Xue Tianai’s shoulder, it was clear he was up to no good.

“If she’s your woman, my buddies and I want to buy her a drink. If not, then scram,” the thug said, pointing to a shadowy booth in the bar.

Xue Tianai followed the direction of his gaze; with his keen vision, he could see five more punks with bizarre hair gathered there.

He shook his head in resignation, a wry smile in his heart. Was Gan Bingning some kind of magnet for trouble? The first time he met her had been rescuing her from a group of thugs—now, here she was, attracting them again.

“Impressive, Bingning, you truly are a national beauty. There are people lining up to buy you drinks,” Xue Tianai remarked, still ignoring the punk.

“But tonight, I’m the one buying you drinks,” Gan Bingning said, her last bit of worry dissipating as she watched Xue Tianai’s unwavering composure.

“One thing is you buying me drinks; another is others buying you drinks. Who do you want to drink with?”

Gan Bingning was momentarily puzzled by Xue Tianai’s question, so she bit her lip and asked, “What about you? Do you want me to go?”

For a moment, her delicate face held a trace of pitiful vulnerability—an allure that could steal anyone’s soul.

“If you want to go, go. If not, don’t. Either way, just make sure you pay for my drinks,” Xue Tianai said, utterly nonchalant.

Gan Bingning’s face instantly lit up with a radiant smile. She understood his meaning: no matter what happened, he would handle it.

The pink-haired punk, however, was filled with disdain after hearing Xue Tianai’s words. He thought Xue Tianai was scared—a coward. Otherwise, how could he say such things?

Bars are places of chaos; when someone offers to buy Gan Bingning a drink, everyone knows what that really means—they’re interested in her for less than honorable reasons.

Yet Xue Tianai was indifferent, unconcerned, seemingly spineless.

Convinced Xue Tianai was no threat, the punk turned to Gan Bingning. “Hey, gorgeous, come drink with us.”

“Not interested!” Gan Bingning hated thugs like him and didn’t even look his way, her voice icy.

In an instant, she transformed from smiling beauty to cold queen, as if donning another mask.

“No need to reject us so quickly... Trust me, drinking with us is way better than sticking around this weak pretty boy,” the punk’s expression changed as he reached for Gan Bingning’s arm.

“Hey, your hand’s getting a little too close,” Xue Tianai suddenly moved, gently swatting the punk’s arm aside before he could touch Gan Bingning.

“Kid, what’s it got to do with you? Get lost!” The punk hadn’t even seen Xue Tianai move; by the time he realized, his arm had been knocked aside and was tingling.

“Didn’t you hear the lady wants to stay here and drink?” Xue Tianai’s eyes flashed coldly, his tone icy.

“Don’t be stupid, kid. We’re trying to buy this woman a drink as a favor to you!” The punk tried again, reaching for Gan Bingning with his recently struck arm.

But the next moment, Xue Tianai grabbed his arm with a steely grip. His face cold, he said, “Keep your hands to yourself. Now get out, while I’m still in a good mood.”

“You little punk, screw you! You dare tell me to get lost? Why not crawl back into your mother’s womb—”

“Ah!” Before the punk could finish, a scream tore through the bar!

It came from the punk, who clutched his now misshapen arm in terror.

Before anyone could react, Xue Tianai moved like a phantom. Somehow, he’d gotten hold of a bottle; he stepped forward and smashed it down onto the retreating thug’s head.

Bang!

Ah!

Already wracked by the pain of his broken arm, the punk was caught off guard as the bottle crashed into his head. Blood, mixed with liquor, streamed down his brightly colored hair. His body crumpled instantly.

The speed and violence of it left everyone stunned; no one expected Xue Tianai to act so decisively.

Gan Bingning stood frozen in place, gazing at Xue Tianai in disbelief.

He stood there, veins bulging on his arms, his expression chilling, eyes tinged with crimson—utterly unlike the gentle pretty boy from moments ago.

He was also not the smiling rescuer she’d first met, who had saved her from a group of thugs.

The atmosphere grew strange. Even the bar’s music seemed to lose its intensity, as more and more patrons turned their attention to the unfolding scene.

When they saw the pink-haired punk collapsed in a pool of blood, many gasped in shock. This handsome young man’s actions were far too ruthless!

“That’s what happens when you don’t leave,” Xue Tianai said with contempt, staring at the fallen thug.

Even a dragon has its reverse scale—and so does Xue Tianai. When the punk insulted his mother and told him to crawl back into her womb, Xue Tianai’s anger boiled over.

Truth be told, Xue Tianai had no interest in these petty street thugs. After all, he was the leader of Butterfly, the legendary assassin Phantom Butterfly! But his mother was one of his reverse scales—touch it, and you pay the price.
